Your hesitation about letting students search flickr on their own is totally warranted. I hate that we have to be so careful all the time — everything is a mix of good and bad.

Here are some alternative search tools to check out — a way to collect a pile of photos first for students to pick from (flickrstorm in particular is good for that).

I love your ideas for getting things done with LibraryThing. I kinda wish there were a children’s version. Can see young readers really going crazy with it.

I really like the idea of blogging buddies. This krelationship is a win-win situation for the kids and using technology can help extend the connection to beyond the times the students can be together in school.

I guess the conference on tagging was a success…this post has many tags!

Hi Patty,
I’ve enjoyed reading your posts very much as I am also a librarian. LibraryThing was a tool I became familiar with in graduate school recently. I have a friend who uses it to showcase new books in the library. I’ve not really had much time to explore all the applications of it yet as I’ve been busy with this class and end of school work. Again, look forward to learning more from your posts.
